About Us

Our Toddler classroom is now open with lots of new furniture and resources for the children.

We believe as toddlers become more able and independent, we react with a focus on self-managed activities / play, such as dressing up, food testing / cooking and team games. Here at Early Learners we feel it is essential for a child to grow and develop their skills. `Messy` play, hide and seek and memory games in the nursery are also introduced.  All activities are safely managed and supervised.

We have a large focus on children learning through their actions. We have trained and hired a new experienced and qualified team.  We want to offer children opportunities to experiment with new objects and activities like, hats, bags and costumes. We use giant toys and objects to encourage imagination and creativity. During play-times we will enjoy music, our new large climbing frame, picture books and rhyme time helping to develop listening skills, and sound recognition.  We offer 2 year old Early Years Funded places.

We are proud of our learning environment

What is 2 year old Early Years Funding?

Eligible 2-year olds in England may be entitled to up to 15 hours a week of funding   for 38 weeks of the year.  Eligible children in England may claim 15 hours of funding, that's 570 funded hours per year.  By September 2025, eligible working families with children aged between 9 months and 5 years old will be entitled to 30 hours of childcare support. Eligible children in England may claim 30 hours of funding, that's 1140 funded hours per year.

A 2 year old is eligible if they are:

  • ‘Looked After’ (LAC) by their Local Authority: ‘Children who are provided with accommodation by a Local Authority for more than 24 hours on a voluntary basis or who are under a Care Order. The child may be living with foster carers, in a residential home or with parents or other relatives. A child who is ‘looked after’ is defined in Section 22 of the Children Act 1989’.

    • A child who has left care through special guardianship or through adoption.

    • A child who receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

A 2 year old child whose family receives one of the following are also eligible:

  • Income support

  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Universal Credit - £15,400 household income (does not included any benefit received)

  • Support through Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act

  • The Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

  • The Working Tax Credit 4-week run (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for WorkingTax Credit)

  • A child who is on receipt of a qualifying benefit in their own right

  • An annual income not exceeding £16,190.

Here at Early Learners we stretch a child's funding over 12 months/ 52 week (instead of 38 weeks), this is to help working families and spread the savings throughout the year.  Certain nurseries may also offer term-time only sessions across 38 week, however these are limited.

If your child is eligible, you can start claiming after they turn 2. The date you can claim will depend on when their birthday is. To find out if you meet the criteria, contact the Council's Funded Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) Team click apply:
